5 Harry Potter Pins 4 Trans Rights
from US$23.42
Inspired by other "Harry Potter fan for Trans Rights" pins, like Jackson Bird's on dftba.com, FoxEstacado's and RedcognitoCrafts' on Etsy and MyAwesomeStore's on Mercari, here's a set of 5 pins for all people, like me, who still like the Wizarding World, but disagree with the author's opinions and are in support of Trans Rights. I couldn't make an individual pin, so here's 5! What are their meanings?
1. Inspired by Jackson Bird's pin, the Deathly Hallows symbol turned upside down as the pink triangle and modified with the Transgender symbol, but turned purple to not have Holocaust echoes (I took the purple from the Biangle symbol), on top of the Transgender flag;
2. The Transgender-Deathly Hallows symbol (in Trans colors) on top of the Non-Binary flag, umbrella identity under the wider Trans+ umbrella;
3. A double inside joke in the Potterhead community. Polyjuice Potion lets you transform into anyone and was, thus, subject of discussions in the Trans community. Sirona Ryan is the (allegedly) only Trans character known in a Wizarding World product (Hogwarts Legacy). The image is a potion in the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince video game. All on top of the Transgender flag;
4. This is kinda stupid... A Transgender Scottish flag, making a joke to the fact that JKR was born and bred in England, yet she TRANSferred in Scotland and self-identifies as Scottish;
5. The Transgender-Deathly Hallows symbol in Trans colors, with 3 particular references at every angle: in the female corner, Hermione's fight for House Elves' rights; in the male corner, Grindelwald's twisted fight for magical people rights in the non-magical world; in the androgynous corner, Dumbledore's sexual orientation (so, LGBTQ+ rights) with the double entendre of a poetical verse by Oscar Wilde (another UK's literary writer), meaning both gay love towards Grindelwald and a reference to Voldemort ("He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named"). The center writing takes a poetic license to make a rhyme in A-B-B-A scheme. All on a gold field, remindful, with the red writing, of Gryffindor and his quality of bravery and courage.
The font in the pins is Freebooter Regular.
ATTENTION: From every order of these pins, $15 (all the actual earnings) will be donated to the Black Trans Advocacy Coalition (yes, I'm Serious!)!!!
